CASTAIC – Another brawl broke out Sunday at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, with four inmates receiving minor injuries in a racially motivated fight, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The fight broke out at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, said Deputy Luis Castro, a spokesman for the county Sherriff’s Department. The brawl lasted about 20 minutes, according to KABC (Channel 7). The four injured inmates were treated at the Pitchess Detention Center’s medical clinic, Castro said. The fight stemmed from a dispute between black and Latino inmates. Nine inmates were injured and eight hospitalized Saturday afternoon in a fight involving 86 black and Latino inmates. Rioting at Pitchess started Feb. 4 with a melee that left one black inmate dead. last_img
