Buncrana school celebrates literary and science award wins

first_imgStudents from Crana College in Buncrana are celebrating great achievements in recent English and Science competitions.Students in first and second year collected awards in the Read DL Creative Writing Competition. Max McKinney also picked up an award for the six-word story competition. In the 1920s, Ernest Hemingway challenged his colleagues to create a story using only six words. The Irish Independent invites weekly entries from writers all across the country. Max entered the competition and won. The teachers at Crana College said they are very proud of Max: “We are immensely proud of Max’s success and he looks forward to receiving a bundle of books from O’Brien press. Max’s story ‘The thief sprinted in the night’ appeared in April’s paper. We wish him continued literary success. The awards they won were The Discover Space Award, Chemistry Award, Environmental Award, Physics Award and also School and Teacher awards. The school are very proud of their achievements this year with the hard work and dedication from the teachers and students.
